Chemical Companies Became the Largest Users of Industrial Gase
September 10, 2021
At the China Industrial Gas Industry Association Annual Meeting and Gas Industry Development Seminar held in Hangzhou on September 4-5, Sun Guomin, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of China Industrial Gas Industry Association pointed out that petrochemical, chemical fertilizer and coal chemical industry will The second largest user of industrial gas exceeded the demand for industrial gases from the steel industry and became the largest user.
Industrial gases are the basis of the entire industry. International gas authorities believe that China's industrial gas market is regarded as the most dynamic market in the world, and the market growth rate will remain at about 15%.
It is understood that the role of gas in the production of "three major chemicals" is of crucial importance. Oxygen is directly involved in the oxidation reaction process as a raw material gas. Oxygen is used as a gasification agent for pulverized coal or heavy oil in the production of synthetic ammonia. Nitrogen is used as a protective gas for sealing, replacement, drying, and safety protection. During the “Eleventh Five-Year Plan” period, China will transform a number of large-scale oil refineries and chemical fertilizer plants to build a number of million-ton-ton ethylene and aromatic hydrocarbon production bases. These projects all require large quantities of industrial gases and are equipped with large-scale air separation plants, which will greatly promote The development of the gas industry. At the same time, the start of new technologies such as coal-to-oil, coal gasification combined cycle power generation, liquefied natural gas receiving stations, smelting reduction ironmaking, and hydrogen energy will also bring new markets to the gas industry.
The delegates believed that the chemical industry park will become the main construction model for future petrochemical projects, and the “integrated production and socialized supply” model of industrial gas will meet the requirements of the circular economy and will be gradually promoted. That is to say, a professional third party invests in the construction and production of industrial gas production and supply facilities throughout the park, and uses long-term supply and marketing contracts to achieve the centralized production of all or most types of industrial gases required by all enterprises in the park. Industrial gases produced by different companies in the park during the production process.
